I met the Murty’s through my good friend Summer Meddock of Meddock Interiors. Summer is an incredible designer that offers my services to families so that they can have new photos while their home is being redesigned. It makes the reveal of the home so much sweeter when there are fresh photos of the family in the home. Gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling inside! The Murty’s were a fun bunch to photograph. With three littles they gave me a run for my money! I love seeing the different dynamics that families share. It’s fun to watch the kids personalities come out as we go through our session together. No shy faces in this family. The Murty’s came ready to party, and that we did! We had a good time catching that perfect light through the trees and watching golden hour set up it’s glowing tone.
When I first met Sahar and her beautiful family it was an instant connection. We shared the same humor, the same love of clothing style and love of beautiful photos. Sahar was chosen by Sakura Bloom to write for The Sling Diaries for six months. When she first approached me I knew I instantly wanted to do it. Meeting every month to do family photos really pushes you as a photographer to get different shots every time you have a session. Thankfully Sahar, her hubby John and the babes were so fun to work with! Each time it felt like a new adventure. The most beautiful part was getting to know the kids more and more each time. The best part of my job is when clients become friends, and that’s exactly what happened here. Getting to document growing families is an incredible experience, and one that I truly hold dear to my heart.
This session was really fun for me. It came equipped with one beautiful family and lots and lots of soft serve ice cream! The Mater’s wanted a fun shoot at Balboa Fun Zone in Newport Beach so naturally I was all about it. We had fun walking around looking at the different games, Ferris wheel and of course ice cream. So much love in this family, I especially love how they show each other how much they care about each other. Sneaking kisses and hugs whenever they could. These are things that I LOVE about our sessions. My documentary style photography longs to catch the magic that happens when families are being themselves and loving on each other. After ice cream we walked down to the water to catch that perfect Newport sunset. Golden hour really loves to be photographed.
Kristin and I go way back, and I mean WAY back. I think we first met our sophomore year or high school. I hadn’t even gotten my license yet! And now, we’re two oldies… barely! Kristin has been there for me when life was really great, and also when life got really hard. She has been such an incredible friend that I don’t know what I did to deserve her. Enter Ray, her loving husband and now added to the mix is Lucas. This family has been such a blessing to myself and my wife that all I wanted to do for Lucas’ first birthday was gift them a session with me. Photography for me is an art that I love sharing with other people. This was the perfect way for me to share my talent while giving a gift that keeps on giving. My hope is that they can look back on these memories and smile. They can remember when he was just barely walking and talking and how far he’s come. I can’t stress to families enough to really invest in documenting their families as they grow. Even if you snap photos on your phone, print them! Get them out there! I want you to look back twenty years from now and be glad that you invested in a photographer that would capture the magic that happens between you and your loved ones.
